Message I have a question about installing the coilover setup on my Z.

First off, I want to apologize for posting a stupid question like this.. I did search and didn't find an answer to my question.

I am in a big rush trying to get my Z ready to get towed to Texas for the widebody. I need to set the ride height with my wheels. I still need to take off all window/trim moldings, all interior panels, door handles etc etc.

So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question:

The tein flex has two adjustment points. Either the collar on the shock/strut body compresses the spring and preloads it and lowers the car (which I would believe that it would make the ride a little rougher).

OR

The total shock length can be adjusted by turning the body of the shock body clockwise/counter-clockwise. Shortening or lengthening the total shock/strut length= Lowering the car without putting any preload on the spring.

Did you guys that have installed this suspension just make the total length of the shock/strut body the same length as stock? and fine tune the height with the locking collars that preload the spring? Or did you put your inital "drop" of height by making the whole assembly shorter and keeping the ride more streetable by not pre-loading the spring as much?

Obviously, I dont' want my spring bouncing around in the shock collar but I also don't want to make the right height adjustments based on just compressing/de-compressing the spring like some GC sleeves etc.

I just would like to learn how your installs went, what you did, and how it turned out.

Thanks alot!

ps. If any of you SA texas or Dallas guys want to make a mini meet around the 29th of august - 4th of Sept. I'll be down there with my Z with no engine and on a trailer, but atleast I'll be WITH my Z at these meets for once :)

NO, This picture is not photoshopped. It took many times to take this picture. Setting up the timer, shutter speed etc, then jumping on my bike and getting the tire to spin.
